Acting Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defense stated that a child at the age of four years died as a result of suffocation after a fire broke out in one of the houses in Isa Town in the Central Governorate.
He also said that after receiving the report at 11.56 in the morning, the Civil Defense teams arrived in the location at 11.59, where they rescued an elderly man, who was trapped between the fire and the smoke on the first floor. The man told them that there was a child in the house on fire, where they rushed and got him out, and both were immediately sent to hospital, but the child died there.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defense Police exerted great efforts to put out the fire which flared up in a number of rooms and facilities on the first floor, and could stop it from spreading to the others rooms of the house.
On the other hand, investigations are still underway to determine the cause of fire.
