His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa hailed Bahrain as an oasis of human rights, co-existence, tolerance and love.
This came as he received at Sakhir Palace Minister of Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman, who introduced Bahrain’s official delegation in charge of the Periodic Review at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
HM welcomed the members of the delegation, lauding their competence in clarifying facts with evidence.
HM the King hailed the delegation’s UNHRC achievement, affirming Bahrain’s keenness on achieving stability and promoting cooperation with all countries in the world.
He stressed Bahrainis’ stance rejecting any distortion of their country’s image, hailing their keenness on clarifying facts in total sincerity and patriotism.
HM affirmed the importance of these efforts,, pointing out,, that thanks to the people’s support and love for their country, Bahrain is moving forward, to make more achievements.
HM the King hailed the election of Bahrain’s candidate to the UNHRC Advisory Committee, describing the achievement as a victory for all Bahrainis.
“This affirms Bahrain’s international mark and the UN appreciation of the Kingdom’s urban and democratic achievements”, he said.
HM directed all government bodies, to cooperate with the Ministry of Human Rights Affairs, in order to implement the ministry’s work plan, with regard to Geneva’s session recommendation… He valued the Human Rights Affairs Minister’s role, in assuming his national duties, thanking the audience and whoever contributed in making this national achievement, for their sincere efforts, in serving Bahrain and its people, wishing them further success.
The Minister of Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman, expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King for welcoming him and his accompanying delegation and for his wise directives in this regard.
He also affirmed that this royal reception was an honor for making a national achievement which is a duty towards Bahrain, its leadership and people.
He vowed to follow HM’s directives with regard to human rights practices, and in raising the society’s awareness and benefiting from Arab and international expertise.
