Camping is considered one of the most entertainment seasons enjoyed by citizens and residents, which combines both being popular and embodying harmony with nature which we often miss.
It is also known that the state institutions are organizing this season and prepare its activities, sparing no effort to make the season safe and fun, where participants enjoy public safety. Therefore, it is required with the same degree that there should be a commitment to the requirements and standards that have been meticulously developed, in order to achieve the highest levels of security and safety.
The regulations are as follows:
Campers must fill out a registration form and deliver it, and also receive sticker before they start their camping, for any unregistered camp will be removed and ask its owner to pay all the expenses involved.
It is not allowed to book a place for camping in advance either by fencing or placing signs or posts or otherwise before the announcement of the official start of the camping season and forestation of the camping sites is forbidden.
It is prohibited to engage in any activity, political, charitable, cultural or competitive gathering during the camping season only with the consent of the High Commission in coordination with the competent authorities. It is also prevented to raise flags on the camps except for the flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Campers have to follow the instructions and signs placed in the camping area, whether educational or warning or others. Campers should also be committed to prevention and safety measures in their tents, provide a fire extinguisher and first aid. Campers are not allowed to use open fires, or stoves inside tents, and not to store combustible materials. They also should provide a separate place for the kitchen.
Campers should stay away from camping in the slopes or places where rainwater or floods gather, or down hills or over the highlands and not to camp in the restricted areas or near the pipes or set up crossings over them. They should also stay away for at least 150 meters from the oil and gas wells sites and at least 50 meters from the piping and high electricity voltage.
Camping should not be near the main roads and should be kept away from those roads not less than 50 meters and not less than 10 meters from the roads.
Campers have to maintain a clean mainland and not to throw garbage, but collect it in bags and put it in specific places along the main roads, so it would be easier to transport it, and it is not allowed to burn the waste, either during or after the end of the camping season.
It is forbidden to construct buildings of brick or cement, and it is not allowed to set up barriers in sites, particularly barrels, tires or fences. It not allowed bringing in cabins without prior authorization from the Southern Region Municipality.
Campers and mainland exercise goers are prohibited from practicing any action that may harm the environment or wildlife, either by machining, uprooting or destroying of trees and wild plants or scraping the earth by heavy equipment. They are also prohibited to furnish the land by dust, concrete, bricks or casting tent floors or pave them.
Those wishing to exercise commercial activity during the camping season, they have to forward a request for a license from the Permits Section in the Department of Technical Services at the Southern Region Municipality before camping season. This is also applied for the street vendors, in condition that they are to stay away for at least 50 meters from the nearest road or street or intersection, and to abide by the terms of the concerned authorities (Civil Defense – Health – Municipality).
Those who wish to exercise rental camps activity during the camping season to apply for a license to the Southern Region Municipality, and abide by all conditions of the concerned authorities and keep a record of the landlords and their personal data for reference when needed.
Campers have to remove tents and accessories after the date of 03.03.2012, or they would be removed by the competent authorities, and their owners will then pay all expenses that would entail.
