Assistant Undersecretary for Training at the Ministry of Labour, Redha Ahmed Hubail, received in his office at the ministry, the Director of services and international projects in the German Society for International cooperation (GIZ), Peter Schmidt and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting was in the framework of implementation of the National Professional Standards Convention’s project between the Ministry of Labour and the German Society, which continues to operate for 24 months, starting from October, 2012.
Hubail reviewed with (GIZ) the preparation stages for implementation of the project which will be accomplished in cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the EDB, that aims at establishing and developing standards for 125 well known professions, and which are most desired from job seekers. They also reviewed the mechanisms of implementing the project, and enhancing the best ways of benefitting from the successful experiences and expertise in the flied of professional standards on the Gulf and International levels.
The Society will cover all the existing professions in the Kingdom on the level of skilled workers, in addition to developing the required mechanisms and infrastructure, to establish, maintain and manage new standards to ensure sustainability, and developing the performance of the organizational and administrative structures associated with the improving national professional standards.
The Assistant Undersecretary for training stressed activating the role of the Supreme Council for Vocational Training, and its quality councils for the development of national professional standards, commensurate with the labor market variables, and rapid changes in jobs, technology and professional practices.
