His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa arrived in Kuwait to lead Bahrain’s delegation to the 1st Asia Cooperation Dialogue, which opens on Tuesday, at the invitation of Kuwaiti Amir His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
HM King Hamad was welcomed on arrival at Kuwait International Airport by HH Amir Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber, National Guard Deputy Chief Shaikh Misha’al, Prime Minister Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Amiri Court Affairs Minister Shaikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, First Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Shaikh Ahmed Al-Humood Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Shaikh Ahmed Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Amiri Court Affairs Deputy Minister Shaikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Information Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Mohammed Abdulla Mubarak Al-Sabah, Royal Court Undersecretary Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Shatti, Kuwaiti Amir’s bureau chief Ahmed Fahd Al-Fahd, senior Kuwaiti officials and Bahraini ambassador to Kuwait.
HM King Hamad paid tribute to Kuwaiti Amir HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his invitation to attend the 1st Asia Cooperation Dialogue.
He underscored the importance of the summit as a platform to discuss key challenges and issues of concern to countries and peoples and promote understanding and sustained partnerships towards achieving the goals of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.
“The summit is timely for Asian states to build on achievements, address challenges and global problems facing our countries”, HM King Hamad said in a statement on his arrival at Kuwait International Airport.
He stressed the need to join efforts to find suitable solutions conducive to deeper relations between the Asia Cooperation Dialogue member states on the basis of joint interests and the Asian countries and peoples’ aspirations.
HM King Hamad described the summit as well as the expected positive decisions and results as reflecting the Asian leaders’ resolve to bolster cooperation and optimize development and social achievements in key sectors – citing particularly sustained energy, food security, the fight against poverty and the need to spur economic and social growth.
