On the sidelines of his participation in the First Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks at the Bayan palace on Tuesday with the Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
During the meeting, HM King Hamad praised the advanced level of the Bahraini-Thai relations, highlighting Bahrain’s interest to enhance cooperation with Thailand further in all fields, especially the economic, trade and investment ones, in order to achieve more coordination that benefits the two kingdoms and their friendly peoples.
HM the King also commended the efforts exerted by businessmen in the two countries to increase bilateral trade through exchanging visits, praising the key role played by the Joint Committee in activating economic, trade and investment collaboration between the two kingdoms.
HM King Hamad also welcomed the opening of the Thai Trade Centre in the Kingdom, noting that it will contribute to enhancing bilateral ties and expanding areas of cooperation, which will consolidate food security and enable the kingdom to avail of the Thai expertise in agriculture and trade.
Regarding the First ACD Summit, HM the King said it represented a turning point in Asian relations and would provide an opportunity to develop and consolidate cooperation between Asian countries, adding that Asian countries’ steadily-growing economies, qualified human resources and industrial and technological development entitle Asia to be a world leader in the economic and industrial fields.
HM the King also reviewed with the Thai Premier ways of bolstering joint cooperation and discussed with her issues of mutual concern, as well as the latest regional and global developments.
HM King Hamad also requested Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to convey greetings to the Thai Monarch King Bhumibol Adulyadej, wishing him continuous good health and happiness and the friendly Thai people further progress and prosperity.
The Thai Premier expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his keen desire to consolidate Bahraini-Thai relations, praising the fruitful and positive results of HM’s recent visit to Thailand.
She also affirmed her country’s constant keenness to consolidate its ties with the kingdom for the joint benefits of the two friendly peoples.
