Three people accused of stealing a car belonging to Municipalities and Urban Affairs Ministry in Muharraq and using the vehicle to crash into a police patrol Al Quraya area have been arrested early Saturday morning.
The car which was stolen near Karimi maatam in Muharraq was reported to the operations room at 04.30 am, Public Security Assistant Chief for operations and training said.
Details of the car were circulated among police stations and security authorities for action to be taken. The stolen vehicle tracked down in cooperation with concerned authorities at the Municipalities and Urban Affairs Ministry through the GPS device as it moved from Muharraq to Northern Governorate. When a police patrol asked the driver of the vehicle to stop he crashed into the jeep. The vehicle was stopped and three persons inside it were arrested.
On October 24 at around 2:40 am a police patrol noticed the presence of two masked men in a vehicle in Bilad Al Qadeem, when the driver was asked to stop he fled the area. He was chased and other security authorities were informed. When the driver was chased he intentionally crashed into 3 police patrols in Hamala. Two suspects inside the car were arrested and the car turned out to be stolen and it was used to steal building materials shop. Police confiscated stolen items inside the car. The two cases were referred to the public prosecution.
