A large number of politicians, activists, MPs and members of the Shura Council as well as citizens from all segments of the Bahraini community praised the resolution issued by Interior Minister, Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in favor of altogether banning of rallying and demonstrations until security is restored, and described the resolution as the rightful long-awaited resolution which came in order to fulfill a popular demand because such demonstrations swerved from the right path and grossly damaged the interests of all Bahraini citizens.
Local newspapers carried statements of various political activities considered law enforcement as an essential foundation for democracy and they reiterated their support to freedom of opinion and voiced their rejection of chaos, violence and all sorts of infringement against law and public order.
MPs and politicians reiterated their unwavering support to the Interior Minister’s resolution banning demonstrations and rallying and described the resolution as the long-awaited popular demand and they urged the Ministry of Justice to fully enforce the resolution and take the necessary legal action against violators. MPs also urged the safeguarding of the Kingdom of Bahrain from sectarian strife or divisions and prevent all consequential repercussions likely to result from violence and terrorism.
MPs also affirmed that the resolution does not constitute any breach of public liberty, citing USA as an example of a democratic country which stipulates its own terms and conditions upon demonstrators such as signing by demonstrators of an undertaking not to inflict any physical harm on anybody nor damage any public or private property.
