In the first, a female First-Lieutenant was accused of forcing a woman journalist to admit committing a crime.
Concerning the second, two Public Security officers stood trial over charges of assault causing death, and were acquitted by the High Criminal Court which amended the charges against them from “beating to death” to “premeditated murder”.
The Attorney General explained that Public Prosecution took the decision after careful scrutiny of the two court rulings and the evidence presented in each case, adding that suspects will be re-tried before the High Court of Appeals as soon as possible.
