Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain appointed Hussam AlFaqir as Head of Origination and Client Coverage and Co-Head of Wholesale Banking for Bahrain.
Hussam was previously Head of Large Local Corporates with Standard Chartered in Dubai. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and executing Bahrain’s Wholesale Banking strategy with a focus on deepening client relationships.
“Hussam’s strong client relationships and banking experience will ensure we continue to strengthen our franchise in Bahrain. The Middle East is one of Standard Chartered’s strategic markets globally and Hussam’s knowledge and skills will help us in further advancing the business in Bahrain,” Morad Mahlouji, Regional Head of Origination and Client Coverage Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan, Standard Chartered Bank, said.

Hussam joined Standard Chartered in early 2009 and has 17 years of banking experience encompassing consumer banking and wholesale banking most of which was in the UAE. Prior to joining the Bank, he worked for several local and multinational banks. Under his leadership the Large Local Corporates business has grown from strength to strength. Hussam will report to Morad Mahlouji, Regional Head of Origination and Client Coverage Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan and to Hassan Jarrar, Chief Executive Officer, Bahrain.
