The General Director of the Northern Governorate Police announced that extensive damage was done when a group of arsonists hurled petrol bombs at a number of cars parked in a garage in the Lawzi area of Hamad Town. The attack took place during the early morning hours on Monday, October 22nd.
The General Director said that at around 2:50 AM, the Southern Hamad Town Police Station received reports of masked men throwing Molotov cocktails at cars. Police patrols and a civil defense team responded to the scene and evacuated two buildings. The fire was extinguished before it reached the flats in the buildings but four vehicles and the buildings exteriors were damaged. No injuries were reported.
At approximately 3:10 AM, the police station received another report that two masked men with petrol bombs attacked a pair of cars parked in front of a building at Roundabout 15 in Hamad Town. Residents in the area put out the fire before it could spread. A crime scene team was deployed to both sites and the public prosecution was notified about the cases.
