Adeeb Kuzbar clinched the 2012 Red Bull Kart Fight title in Bahrain at the 1.4km VIVA Karting Track. The event, held in collaboration with MINI, proved to be action packed and entertaining as a large number of motorsport spectators enjoyed the thrills and spills of Karting.
Kuzbar 16 years from Bahrain started the race fourth on the grid but faced a problem on the first lap which left him in eighth position. He then did all he could to climb back through the field and by lap 8 he managed to catch the leaders Louis Skalski and Ahmed Kooheji. The trio exchanged the lead several times but it was Kuzbar who had the upper hand and crossed the finish line 0.120 seconds in front of Kooheji. Skalski took a deserved third finishing 0.842 seconds behind the winner.
Kuzbar who will now represent the Kingdom of Bahrain at the World Final on December 8 and 9 in Bologna, Italy said: “I’m extremely happy to win; I started fourth on the grid and didn’t have the perfect start. I slowly managed to gain momentum and led the race in the closing laps. The last few laps were extremely close and tensed but I managed to keep my nerves and crossed the finish line first.”
The Red Bull Kart Fight Final in Bahrain started with the drawing of the Karts and drivers weighing. This was followed by the drivers briefing, the practice and knock-off runs. The 15 minute qualifying session was quite competitive with extremely close timings scored.
The Red Bull Kart Fight event proved to be very successful as more than 250 participants took part in the one month qualifier that took place between September 28 and October 28. Only 40 with the fastest lap times made it to the National Final. The event was attended by Red Bull athletes Abdo Feghali, Middle East Hill Climb Champion and Mohamed Al Mutawaa, UAE Single Seater and Karting race driver.
The “MINI Fastest Lap Award” was won by Louis Skalski who managed to set the fastest time (1m: 02s:508) during the one month qualifier. Skalski gets a trip for two to Italy to watch the Red Bull Kart Fight World Final in December.

It will be a fantastic festival of speed and international competition. The World Final will take place on December 8 and 9, 2012, at the Bologna Motor Show – Italy’s most prestigious motorsport fair.
