The chairman of the Council of Representatives Khalifa Al Dahrani met at the Council of Representatives with the Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
This was in the presence of Minister for Shura and Representative Affairs Mr Abdul-Aziz Al Fadel, head do the national security body Major General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadel, and the Chief of Public security plus a number of representative Council members.
The Minister of Interior briefed the audience on the recent security event that took place last Monday in Gudaibeya, Adliya and Hoora areas. Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid affirmed that such acts were inhumane and irresponsible.
He highlighted the danger of such phenomena especially in highly populated areas adding that security measures were taken by the ministry. Meanwhile the minister stressed that a total of 25 of those involved were detained.
The minister affirmed the increasing of the security status in the coming phase. He also indicated the preparations towards adding security check-points that will be enforced in various areas as well as patrol cars in the various governorates.
The Minister also shed light on withdrawal of nationality from a number of people who caused damage to the national security.
Lt General Shaikh Rashid asserted the need to stand united in combating terrorists and criminal acts in order to preserve the country’s security and stability.
For their part, the Chairman and members of the council of Representatives gave their endorsement to the measures undertaken by the Ministry of Interior in order to maintain security and stability and apprehend those responsible for terrorist acts.
They thanked the minister of interior for briefing them on the situation and voiced trust in the ministry’s ability to apprehend criminals and bring them to justice.
