Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Shaikh Rashid Bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa led Bahrain’s delegation to the meeting of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers in its twenty-eighth session, held this morning in Cairo, to discuss strengthening Arab cooperation in the field of justice and judiciary, particularly combating terrorism and human trafficking.
A number of issues were discussed during the meeting, including the draft Arab convention to combat human trafficking, the draft Arabic protocol on combating piracy, the draft Arab convention to organize organ transplantation, the draft Arab convention to prevent human cloning as well as the draft Arab strategy to develop judiciary and justice systems.
The ministers also discussed a proposal presented by the State of Qatar on a draft agreement for cooperation between the bodies and departments in the Arab countries, in addition to proposals from Palestine about the circumstances of the death of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, as well as supporting the project of developing the Palestinian Ministry of Justice.
