Transportation Minister, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, officially patronised the commissioning of the Civil Aviation Affairs’ new Air Navigation Radar System, in the presence of the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs and senior officials in the Civil Aviation and companies operating in Bahrain International Airport, in compliance with the wise directives of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Government aimed at developing service facilities in all governmental ministries, especially in the civil aviation sector.
The launching of this advanced air navigation radar system has been launched in order to keep abreast with latest and current international developments and requirements of development of services in civil aviation sector, and expanding its scope so as to benefit from the features of latest hi-tech radar systems at Bahrain International Airport to provide additional services to users of the Bahrain International Airport such as commercial and private aircrafts on transit over Bahrain airspace. The new radar system has been installed by SELEX Company.
The nature of working of the aviation navigation management features continually-provided services around the clock emanating from importance of providing daily continuous service to air operations to all aircrafts which would like to transit or land at Bahrain International Airport.
The new aviation radar systems help increase efficiency of ATC staffs in managing daily movement and to ensure safety, increase intake capacity of Bahrain’s airspace and for the sake of easy flow of aircraft movement.
The new air navigation radar system features additional data which ensure safe aircraft movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aviation territory.
