The Environment, Health & Safety EHS Week 2012 has been launched on Sunday. The event is organized by the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) during the period 04-10 November 2012.
The main theme of Bapco’s EHS Week 2012 is “we care” which underlines Bapco’s commitment towards fostering the environmental compliance and its support for efforts aimed at the preservation of the environment and community welfare. The theme also underlines Bapco’s ongoing commitment to enhance EHS values not only among its employees and their families, but also for contractor employees and the entire community. Bapco Chief Executive Gordon Smith said EHS Week was one of the key events on Bapco’s calendar and one of the most popular activities in Bahrain.
“This activity aims at increasing public awareness of EHS concepts through a series of educational activities, competitions, quizzes, workshops and prizes,” he said.
“Over the years, Bapco’s EHS Week has acquired a special dimension in the Bahraini community and has become a popular event among our employees, contractors and their families, with over 25,000 people visiting EHS Week 2010 Family Day. This large number proves the success in delivering the key EHS messages,” he added.
Smith thanked Bapco’s EHS Organizing Committee for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of this significant event.
