Over 120 children aged 4-18 received prizes for their participation in Bapco’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Week 2012 Children’s competition, at a ceremony held today (Saturday) at Bapco Club in Awali.
Prizes were presented by Bapco Chief Executive, Gordon Smith, in presence of members of the management, parents, and members of the EHS Organizing Committee.
The children were the winners of different quizzes on energy conservation, noise, and other safety & health aspects. Commenting on the occasion, Smith thanked the parents for encouraging their children to participate in the competitions, which aimed at increasing awareness of environment, health, and safety issues.
“Our EHS slogan this year is “We Care”, which expresses our concern for our employees, our contractors and their families,” said Smith. He also said Bapco’s many achievements in the area of EHS are only possible with the support of Bapco’s employees and contractors. EHS Week is a regular event and a highlight of the Bapco calendar, aimed at further raising awareness of environment, health and safety issues at the workplace, at home, and on the road.
