Undersecretary at the Labour Ministry Sabah Salim Al Dusary held talks with the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations development Programme (UNDP) Lamia Jalal Al-Dine Al- Tayeb and discussed with her enhancing technical cooperation in the field of human resources development.
During the meeting, Al Dusary praised UNDP’s support for all human development projects in the kingdom through providing the necessary technical and consultative services, adding that the Labour Ministry is looking forward to consolidating its cooperation with UNDP further, especially regarding vocational guidance.
He also commended the efforts of UNDP during the visit of the delegation of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to discussing solving the issue of those dismissed during the regretful incidents that the kingdom went through during February and March, 2011.
Deputy UNDP Resident Representative hailed the kingdom’s interest in developing human resources and constant keenness to upgrade them, citing the Labour Ministry’s training and human resources development programmes which play a major role in supplying the local labour market with highly qualified cadres.
She also expressed UNDP’s readiness to provide consultative and technical support for human resources development projects in Bahrain, praising the Labour Ministry’s positive role in addressing the issue of dismissed workers.
Director of Human Resources Development at the Labour Ministry Essam Ismail Al-Alawi and Director of Projects at UNDP Mohammed Al Shareef were also present.
