As part of its efforts to develop Bahraini skills and fulfill the needs of the Bahraini private sector, Tamkeen signed an agreement with Newton Legal Group, an international legal firm working with several government establishments in Bahrain, to train 10 new Bahraini law graduates.
“The agreement is in line with our mission to train Bahrainis and arm them with the skills that help them realise their objectives and fulfill their career ambitions. We are pleased to partner with such a prestigious international law firm to give a group of promising Bahraini lawyers the opportunity to advance in the ever-growing legal profession and effectively contribute to the growth of the national economy,” Tamkeen Chief Executive Mahmood Hashem Al-Kooheji, said.
The agreement targets new Bahraini law graduates that have less than 3 years of working experience. The two-year training programme includes theoretical courses offered on a weekly basis. In addition, the participants will also have the opportunity to deal with various entities including ministries, semi-governmental institutions, and private companies.
“Legal affairs play a significant role in supporting modern economies and it is extremely important to have trained national professionals within this field. Therefore, we look forward to cooperating with Tamkeen to develop local talents in this profession,” Joseph Huse, Newton Legal Group General Manager, said.
This initiative is one of more than 100 programmes that Tamkeen offers to develop human capital and build the capacity of Bahraini citizens in line with the requirements of the labour market and with a view to making Bahrainis the employees of choice. More than 23,000 Bahrainis have so far benefited from Tamkeen’s human development programmes. Tamkeen has also helped more than 2,200 Bahrainis find jobs in various sectors.
