The 25th conference of the Arab Writers’ Union opened in the King of Bahrain.
Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa patronised the opening ceremony, in the presence of His Majesty’s Advisor for Media Affairs Nabeel bin Yacoub Al-Hamer and Minister of State for Information Affairs Samira Rajab.
The four-day event is being held at the Isa Cultural Centre under the slogan: “The Word for the Sake of Human Being”.
Bahrain Writers Union secretary general Dr. Rashid Najm addressed the opening ceremony, also attended by Arab authors and ambassadors.
Bahraini writer and thinker Dr. Mohammed Jaber Al-Ansari and late renowned poet Ibrahim Al-Arrayedh will also be honoured in recognition of their role in enriching the intellectual and literary life in Bahrain.
