Under the patronage of the Tunisian President, Dr. Mohammed Al Moncef Al Marzouki, Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi inaugurated the works of the 21st session of the General Conference of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in the Tunisian Capital, which takes place in the period from 29-30 of December 2012.
The Tunisian President delivered a speech where he highlighted the active and effective role played by (ALECSO) on the education, culture and sciences levels, praising the efforts of organization in elevating its humanitarian works which include all countries acceding to its membership.
The Tunisian President pointed out the positive, important and creative impact of the Arabic language as a mother tongue, calling for the need to increase providing concern to it, and allocating an Arab Nobel Prize for the distinguished and those highly involved in its multiple fields.
Minister of Education, President of the 21st session of the General Conference delivered a speech valuing the efforts of the organization concerning the good coordination of the conference, reflecting the ability of the Arab countries to embody cooperation aiming at achieving progress and development in all various fields of education, culture and sciences.
The minister valued the great trust allocated for Bahrain during the last session, granting it the presidency of the General Conference for two consecutive years, and congratulating the State of Palestine for being accepted as a member of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Cultural (UNESCO) and also for being accepted as an observer in the United Nations.
The Minister highlighted the distinction of the past two years, during the Presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain, including accomplishing a lot of achievements especially increasing the courses, workshops and training in all areas, and implementing several programmes aiming at developing the education outcomes and promoting the culture of quality.
“During its presidency of the conference, Kingdom of Bahrain supported the programmes related to elevating education, scientific research, culture and dialogue between civilizations, and providing concern to children through awarding the outstanding researchers.”
The minister also called on the member states in the executive council of the organization to benefit from the international centers in the member states, thanking the support allocated to Bahrain.
