Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, emphasized that the safeguarding of Gulf security and stability is a pivotal issue in international strategy, and a collective responsibility which calls for encouragement of dialogue and understanding between various effective powers in order to ensure a more secure and stable future for peoples of the region and the whole world.
This came in a statement issued by the Minister one day ahead of the “Manama Dialogue Conference” scheduled to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period 7-9 December 2012.
The Minister said that security and stability of the region occupies a high priority both regionally and internationally in view of its strategic political and economic significance, and emanating from the pivotal leading role of the region in providing suitable atmospheres to discussion of core issues pertaining to regional security with the aim of formation of clear vision on how to deal with present and future challenges.
The Minister praised the International Institute for Strategic Studies in organizing this major under existing cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Minister aspired to contribution of Manama Dialogue in bolstering regional security and stability and preventing unrest and violence.
