GCC Secretary General, Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani conveyed his utmost heart felt congratulations for His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on chairing the Thirty Third GCC Supreme Council’s Summit, praising HM’s wisdom and insight which support the GCC march, and the joint Action, aspiring that the Summit will have great outcomes.
In a special interview with Bahrain’s Television, Al Zayani stressed the importance of holding the Thirty Third Summit which starts its works in the Kingdom of Bahrain tomorrow Monday, in the light of the delicate regional conditions.
“Manama Summit will discuss all the current issues in the region, including the Syrian crisis, supporting the Syrian people, achieving their aspirations, supporting Yemen to get out of its crisis, and the Iranian interference as well as other issues,” Al Zayani said.
Concerning the defense issues, Al Zayani added, “The Summit will discuss a lot of issues to develop the defense Action, the joint security action and the adoption of the security agreement, as well as discussing the water security and water connectivity between the GCC states.”
Al Zayani said that several systems aiming at the unification of Gulf legislation will be adopted, as well as reviewing the report concerning the Customs Union, the Common Market, what has been achieved so far, the obstacles and working on overcoming them, in addition to giving concern to the Gulf Citizen.
Al Zayani stressed the keenness of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC states to support the Gulf citizen, and taking the required decisions to serve the growth, prosperity, stability and security of the region, pointing out that the GCC peoples’ gathering round their leaders is the incentive, and the power to maintain the joint action. He highlighted that the achievements accomplished till now is a pride of this blessed march.
In regard of the GCC Union, Al Zayani said that negotiations are still going on, referring to the initiative of HM the Saudi Monarch, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to move from the cooperation stage to the Union stage.
Al Zayani reinforced that the vision of Their Majesties and Highnesses, GCC states leaders aim at working to achieve security, stability, safety and prosperity of the GCC states and their peoples.
About the Iranian issue and the relation with it, Al Zayani said, “The GCC stance concerning the Emirates islands is unified which is rejecting the occupation and demanding resolving the issue with peaceful means, and the reference to the International Court of Justice, and the rejection of the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of any GCC state.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullatif expressed his highest and deep heart felt congratulations for HM the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Saudi Monarch King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the success of his operation and coming out of the hospital safe, asking Almighty God to bless him with happiness and good health.
Al Zayani also congratulated Bahrain, UAE and Qatar for their National Days, wishing their peoples more progress, development and prosperity.
