Three Bahraini girls were killed and around fifty other pilgrims were injured in a fatal accident involving their bus near the Madinah City in Saudi Arabia.
Bahrain Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Shaikh Humood bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa said that the Saudi hospitals had discharged around forty injured pilgrims had been discharged.
Eleven other pilgrims who sustained medium injuries are in a stable condition and are still undergoing medical treatment at the King Fahd Hospital.
Following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the embassy and the Jeddah-based consulate followed-up the victims of the citizens.
Shaikh Humood also commended Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa for his follow-up, pointing out that that the injured had been transported by helicopters to Al-Hanakiya and King Fahd Hospitals to received medical treatment after undergoing first-aid.
Most pilgrims had then been discharged from the hospitals while eleven others who sustained medium injuries are still undergoing medical treatment.
The ambassador commended the Saudi authorities for responding quickly and following-up the aftermath of the fatal accident.
He also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereft families, wishing the injured pilgrims quick recovery.
