The Bahrain Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has won The Best Regulator of the Year Award for the third year in a row as announced during the annual CommsMEA Awards held in Dubai.
The award comes in recognition of TRA’s achievements in developing the telecommunications sector across Bahrain. Since inception of such international award, the TRA’s third win comes as an extraordinary accomplishment. The Bahrain Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has outpaced prominent rivals like the TRAs of Saudi Arabia and the UAE and Qatar’s Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology.
“The series of remarkable achievements of TRA regionally and internationally is attributable to the wise vision exerted by the Kingdom’s Leadership. These achievements are the catalyst to such wisdom as it has initiated a viable economic strategy for a free telecommunications market,” TRA’s Chairman Dr. Mohammed Al Amer, said, who also received the award.
“It also paved the way for a concrete business platform enabling effective competition “It is very honoring to win such an award , which is yet another testament to the leading and exceptional role TRA plays to elevate the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” Dr. Al Amer, added.
“Winning such an award for the third time would not have been achieved without the dedication of professional and highly talented team. This team who prioritize their scope to safeguard the consumer’s interests, develop the telecommunications market, and boost the national economy.” Adding “This award presents TRA with a new challenge, which is continuing to provide the best-of-the-best services and initiatives aligned with the best of our consumers’ and investors’ interests and the national economy alike,” Mohamed Bubashait, TRA’s Director General, said.
It is worth mentioning that Batelco has also won the Best Business Service Award, being one of the leading telecommunications operators in Bahrain and the region. This award is in recognition of Batelco’s provisioning of the best services for all sectors. Yet, this is another testament of the level of prosperity and effectiveness of competitiveness enjoyed by the telecommunications market in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
