His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who inspected the Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre in Isa Town, affirmed the government’s interest to go ahead with its efforts to provide most developed and sustainable health services through building projects that boost the health sector in the kingdom in order to make them accessible for all the citizens nationwide.
The BD6 million health centre consists of a pharmacy, which is equipped with hi-tech medical devices and provides e-services for patients, in addition to emergency, radiology, treatment and operation rooms.
The 6000-metre centre also contains dental clinics and a special section for mother care, school health, family counselling and marital guidance.
“The government welcomes the initiatives of the private sector to set up health centres and establishments out of its belief in the importance of social partnership in enhancing the national progress in all fields,” he said.
In this regard, the Premier hailed the role played by Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer’s sons who contributed to the building of the health centre, commending their charitable projects that reflected the solidarity between the members of the one-family Bahraini society, as well as the patriotic role played by the private sector in supporting the government’s development policies in all sectors.
HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman underlined that the health sector tops the agenda of government work out of its incessant desire to provide quality health services that appeal to the citizens and meet their expectations.
“Bahrain is proud of its people and is need for the contributions and efforts of all its citizens,” he said, noting that “Bahrainis, men and women, have proved their loyalty to the homeland through sincere and dedicated work for the sake of its progress and prosperity and the Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre is just one proof of this.”
HRH Prime Minister added that the “therapeutic and protective services provided in the kingdom match those in the most developed countries in terms of quality thanks to the commendable efforts of the distinguished and highly-qualified Bahraini medical cadres of whose competence we are proud.”
HRH Premier was briefed by the Health Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi and those in charge of the Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre on the centre’s various medical devices used the services it will provide and mechanisms to receive patients.
HRH Premier said that the health centre will add value to the kingdom’s health sector because of its advanced equipment and services, instructing the Health Ministry and other relevant sides to provide it with the necessary facilities in order to ensure that it is opened as soon as possible.
The Health Minister presented HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa with a commemorative gift marking his visit.
The Health Minister and those in charge of the Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH Premier for his constant support for the health sector, asserting that the new health centre will be a pioneering state-of-the art medical monument thanks to his sound directives, adding that the new health facility, due to be open 24 hours a day, will serve the citizens and expatriates in Isa Town and reduce pressure on the Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The Yousuf Abdulrahman Engineer Health Centre will serve about 35000 people from 26 neighbourhoods and will provide category “A” services, including therapeutic, preventive and physiotherapeutic ones.
