Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) holds an Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, in accordance with Article 15 of the Decree Law No: (48) for the year 2012, at 10:00 am on Sunday 27th January 2013 in the Kingdom Hall on the 1st floor of the Chamber building Bait Al Tijjar.
The agenda for this meeting is only to approve the draft of Executive Regulations for the Law of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry that was issued by Decree Law No. (48) For the year 2012 and according to Article No. (50) Of this law and will not discuss any other topics.
According to Article No. (19) Of the Chamber’s Law, this meeting will be valid with the presence of 200 members or 10% of the number of the registered members, whichever is less. If there is no quorum at the first meeting, another invitation will be send to a second meeting which will be held within 15 days of the first meeting date, and the second meeting will be valid with any number of the members who attended.
The decision shall be taken in this meeting by a majority of the present members, and if the votes equaled, the side of the chairman of the meeting will be weighted.
All the registered members who paid their annual participation fees will be entitled to enter the hall to exercise their right to vote according to Article No. (14) of the Chamber’s Law which stated that: The member in the General Assembly Meetings is represented in voting and in attendance by the owner of the establishment or his legal representative, and if they multiply, they shall delegate one of them to attend and vote in the GAM, the delegation in attending and voting in the GAM is illegal, and each member shall have a number of votes restricted by the his capital in accordance with the Chamber’s records.
Members attending the meeting should request on the day of the meeting, prior to entering the meeting hall, their voting cards. This card will show the commercial name of the establishment or the company represented by the member, BCCI membership number, the name of who has the right to vote and the number of votes.
All members should bring their valid membership card together with one of the original ID documents (passport, identity card).
To be eligible to attend and vote, the members should make the renewal of their membership and update their data before the end of the Chamber’s working hours on Thursday 24th January 2013.
