The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) will organise workshops in Khartoum, Sudan on 29 – 31 January 2013. The workshops will focus on Facilitating the Implementation of the IFSB Standards (FIS) on Banking and Takaful. The Banking Workshops will discuss Liquidity Risk Management and Stress Testing and are being hosted by the Central Bank of Sudan. Meanwhile, the Takaful Workshops will cover Governance and Solvency issues and are hosted by the Insurance Supervisory Authority of Sudan.
The Central Bank of Sudan is also hosting an IFSB Meet the Members Session on 30th January 2013. There are 20 member organisations from Sudan in the IFSB membership.
The Central Bank of Sudan is a Founding member of the IFSB, and sits as a Permanent Member of the IFSB Council. The Sudanese financial experts and leaders have also contributed greatly to the work of the IFSB since its establishment in 2002, by participating in the technical committee, working groups, task forces, roundtables, forums and seminars.
