Arrangements have been finalised to repatriate the body of Mehnaz Begum through Gulf Air flight GF752 which departs Bahrain International Airport for Karachi at 12.55am on Monday, the officials have confirmed.
Mehnaz Begum died of natural causes during transit at Bahrain International Airport (BIA) and her body was moved to mortuary of Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) upon the request of Pakistan embassy.
“The legal formalities have been completed and the body is being repatriated to Karachi through Gulf Air flight,” an official at the Pakistan embassy confirmed.
The official also confirmed that there was no need of performing post-mortem since Mehnaz died due to natural causes during transit.
It may be recalled that Mehnaz Begum, passed away during transit at the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) on Saturday. She was 55.
She was travelling alone by Gulf Air, national carrier of Bahrain, enroute to London-Miami USA.
