The Arab League’s Secretary-general, Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, hailed the initiative of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of calling for establishing an Arab Human Rights Tribunal which he described as an unprecedented initiative and an urbane legal transformation in the Arab region, according to a report published by the Bahrain News Agency.
Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi on the sidelines of the special conference held in Manama on the purposed of creation of an Arab Human Rights Court praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in respecting and maintaining human rights and in this aspect he praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s acceptance of the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) led by professor Dr Mahmoud Sharif Bassiouni a well-known international legal jurist.
The BICI Commission was initiated by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who accepted its recommendations and ordered the honorable Government to implement these recommendations. This initiative of HM the King has put the Kingdom of Bahrain on the right track, according to Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi who also praised the resumption of the national consensus dialogue sessions on the political theme which he described as a sound idea which should be adopted in all Arab countries in order to reach amicable solutions to satisfy everybody.
