Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro participated in the opening ceremony of the 51st Bangkok Gems and Jewelry during the official visit by the Bahraini economic delegation to Thailand.
During the opening, the Minister and the accompanying delegation toured the exhibition, which is considered one of the leading and largest jewelry fair in the world, praising the global level of this exhibition and the volume of international participants, and good reputation achieved over the 30 years. The minister stressed the need to benefit and exchange experiences and to optimize the expertise from the both sides. In turn the experiences that are characterized the Kingdom of Bahrain in organizing annual jewelry exhibition for more than twenty years. The Minister was briefed on the modern technology used in examining gems as well as methods used in extracting diamonds.
It should be noted that Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair is a dynamic place to conduct good business and network with over 1,200 exhibitors in 16 key product categories and thousands of international jewelers and traders pursuing supplies. It is organized twice a year, in March and September, at the Impact Challenger, with more than 3,500 stalls spread over 80,000 square meter. Over 1,200 exhibitors from over 35 countries such as; UK Italy, Russia, USA, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and etc. participated and attract 35,000 international delegates and visitors.
Participating in the visit to exhibition with the Minister of Industry and Commerce were members of the delegations including Dr. Essam Fakhro Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a number of Bahraini businessmen and representatives from the Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
