Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) has voiced its deep concerns over repeated attacks targeting press photographers.
In a statement it condemned the heinous aggression perpetrated by rioters and saboteurs on the photographer of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA).
The BJA statement also slammed the criminal attack on Al-Arabiya Satellite Channel photographer Khalid Al-Jebali.
Both photographers were assaulted as they were covering a funeral in Jidhafs along with other reporters and photographers.
They were both taken to hospital to undergo necessary medical treatment in the aftermath of the aggression.
The statement denounced the repeated attacks, which reflect a systematic trend to intimidate and terrorise journalists and photographers and muzzle the media which reports the true facts on the ground.
The association held crisis-mongering parties instigating riots and sabotage responsible for such criminal attacks, urging them to cease their despicable acts which belie their calls for freedom.
The association also called on reporters and photographers to be prudent whilst on duty.
The statement asserted the resolve of all Bahrain journalist community to brave any intimidation and continue assuming their patriotic duties for the sake of the nation.
Unidentified thugs also assaulted Al-Watan photographer last Thursday evening as he was assuming his duties.
