The fifth session of the National Consensus Dialogue has been held at Al-Areen Resort in Sukhair.
“The participants have approved the format of the sessions in a bid to facilitate the multi-party dialogue,” Official Spokesperson Isa Abdulrahman said.
Under the new dialogue format, participants would each be allowed a maximum of five minutes only to make their points.
Minutes shall be drafted in brief and undersigned by all representatives at the end of each session, featuring both the approved issues and pending points. Each participant would have a copy of the undersigned minutes.
The session shall be suspended upon the request of one party engaged in the dialogue. The duration shall be approved by consensus among all parties.
No participant shall be allowed to intervene a second time unless the list of speakers is exhausted.
The participants have also agreed not to reconsider the issues which have already been approved.
They reached a consensus to keep contentious points pending to feature on the agenda of the next session.
The statements of the National Dialogue official spokesperson shall be based on the approved minutes of the session.
The moderators of the session shall draw up an initial draft agenda for each session, based on the papers submitted by all parties.
The parties have also agreed to hold the sixth session on Wednesday March 6, 2013.
