The codeshare partnership between Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, and EGYPTAIR, the flag carrier of Egypt, marked eight successful years since it was formed on 16th February 2005.
The codeshare partnership between the two national carriers has proved to be a resounding success as both airlines witness strong passenger numbers between the two Arab countries.
“The success of the codeshare partnership with Egypt Air reaffirms the longstanding relationship between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Under the codeshare agreement, Gulf Air passengers now have the privilege to fly to Egypt at their convenience,” Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer, Maher Salman Al Musallam, said.
“EGYPTAIR’s relationship with Gulf Air is deep-rooted – when we first signed our codeshare partnership. As well, Bahrain remains a strategic route and key market for us connecting Egypt with the Arabian Gulf, Indian Subcontinent and Asia. The success of our codeshare is a testament to the strength and importance of the close ties that exist between the two countries,” EGYPTAIR Chairman and CEO, Captain Roshdy Zakaria, said.
“EGYPTAIR offers its customers 7 weekly flights between Egypt and Bahrain with seamless connections to Africa, Europe, Far East and the USA.”
As one of the Middle East’s largest network carriers, Gulf Air is well positioned to connect Cairo to several key destinations in the region with 10 weekly flights and excellent connectivity via Bahrain to more than 23 countries including key destinations such as Dubai, UAE, Bangkok, Thailand and Mumbai in India.
On the other hand, backed with experience of more than 80 years, EGYPTAIR offers a wide network reaching over 80 destinations via Cairo’s new TB3, the northern gateway to Africa using a young fleet consisting of 81 aircraft crisscrossing 4 of the world’s continents.
