Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women and Chairwoman of the Consultative Council of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector, received today representatives of major companies which took part in and sponsored the 9th Bahrain International Gardens Show (BIGS) that was held last week under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Her Highness also received members of the consultative council and BIGS organizing committee.
She lauded BIGS international reputation thanks to its growth and wide-ranging participations in it from Bahrain and abroad.
She commended the key role played by official and private companies to develop the exhibition and highlight Bahrain’s efforts to promote the role of the agricultural sector in diversifying the economy and protecting the environment.
BIGS is considered as an opportunity to promote locally and internationally the goals of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector, which was launched by HerRH Princess Sabeeka in March 2010 to unify the national efforts towards achieving sustainable agricultural development, in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa held talks with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, who greeted him on his return home following a private visit abroad.
The two Princes said that the kingdom, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has succeeded in creating a positive atmosphere that has enabled it to make rapid development and progress strides despite challenges and obstacles.
They asserted that the kingdom will continue expanding and enhancing its development march thanks to its confidence in its citizens’ ability to preserve the milestone national achievements and build on them in order to ensure a better future.
The two leaders pointed out that cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries has consolidated the kingdom’s regional and international position and promoted it as an effective partner in international issues.
