As part of its ongoing efforts to prepare its staff to successfully encounter any emergency or crisis and to keep up with best international practices, the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) held tanker roll-over training for Local Marketing Department employees.
The course consisted of two parts, theoretical held at Bapco Club and practical held at the old Awali transport yard. The training involved a number of Bapco’s concerned departments mainly Awali Hospital, Marketing Division, Rigging Section and Oil Spill group.
The training aims to familiarize Local Marketing employees with the safety features of fuel tankers and to provide them with the ability and knowledge to handle Fuel Tankers related incidents and emergencies. The exercise was held to test the response of Bapco and the Civil Defence and it involved an overturned fuel tanker at a residential location. The training course was organized by Ebrahim Mohamed from Fire Health and Safety Department, and Abdulla Al Banna from Local Marketing Department, and facilitated by Nabeel Ali from Emirates National Oil Company. Present at the training were Local Marketing Department employees, Civil Defence Officers and Traffic Directorate officers.
