Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain (KFH-B) announced its gold sponsorship of the First International Diabetes Symposium which is organized by the University Medical Center in the King Abdullah Medical City of the Arabian Gulf University. The Symposium is being held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health Mr. Sadiq Sadiq Bin Abdulkareem Al Shehabi during 2-3rd March 2013. Elite experts and consultants who are specialized in diabetes will participate from USA, UK and GCC to discuss the latest developments about diabetes and its recent medical treatments.
Dr. Khalid Tabbara, Vice President at the University, praised KFH-B for their commitment in supporting initiatives like this in the health sector. He stressed that the Symposium is the first of its kind in the region because it addresses issues related to diabetes that have not been addressed before, such as stem cell transplant, treatment of difficult cases, containing the disease complications as well as the latest treatments in the global drug markets.
The Endocrinology, diabetes and fats Consultant at the University Medical Center in King Abdullah Medical City, Dr. Nasreen Al Sayed thanked KFH-Bahrain for their contribution towards the Symposium which will be attended by nearly 200 doctors specialized in diabetes, family medication, esoteric and dietician from the GCC. The Symposium aims at raising the awareness of diabetes and reviewing the scientific developments in the field of diagnostics. It will also stress the importance of understanding the nature of the disease and ways to control it through education and getting acquainted with how to live with it. Diabetes is considered to be one of the most fatal and chronic diseases nowadays that affects many men, women and children.

The First International Symposium will include workshops to train the participants on diagnosing the complications of diabetes and treatment of the difficult and chronic cases, as well as reviewing the latest global recommendations. Research papers that will be presented will include a wide range of latest topics in the treatment of diabetes and endocrine while focusing on topics of interest to specialists in the treatment of these diseases in both children and adults.
