The Spokesperson of the National Consensus Dialogue Isa AbdulRahman has announced that the eighth session of the National Dialogue will convene at Al Areen Resort on Sunday.
The Dialogue follows the implementation of the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the continuation of the National Consensus Dialogue on political theme, which is an opportunity to overcome challenges and build bridges between all, and to agree on the best solutions for the benefit of the nation and its citizens.
The spokesperson said the eighth session would continue the discussion about the proposed points to be included in the draft agenda, based on the documents submitted.
He said the session held on Wednesday witnessed consensus among all the participants on the draft agenda presented by the working group at a meeting held on the previous Sunday.
The working group had agreed on the mechanisms for running the sessions and the implementation of the outcomes on which consensus had been reached, in addition to deciding the timetable after approving the final draft of the agenda.
The spokesperson explained that the participants had agreed in the last session to approve the points in the minutes relating to mechanisms for running the sessions, in accordance with the minutes of the fifth session held on 27 February 2013, along with the mechanisms to implement the outcomes on which consensus had been reached through the formation of an implementation team from among the participants in the Dialogue, and through public referendum, implementation guarantees, setting a timeframe for the implementation, constitutional means and constitutional institutions. It was also decided to set the timeframe to approve the final draft of the agenda.
He affirmed that the Dialogue is an inclusive process for all political entities in Bahrain.
With consensus as its only limitation, the Dialogue is an opportunity to back reforms and the development process. Inviting all political societies and granting the participants the right to decide the Dialogue agenda are foundations for results based on consensus and focused on the shared vision of all sections of society and consideration for the best interests of the nation.
