The General Director of Northern Governorate Police announced that on Sunday morning in Damistan a domestic terror group attacked a diesel tanker with Molotov cocktails in an apparent attempt to ignite the tanker, injure those inside and spread fear.
The General Director stated that the operations room received a call at 9:20 am reporting the attack on Zaid bin Omaira road. Security patrols reached the scene within three minutes. Civil Defence prevented a disaster by immediately extinguishing the flames before they reached the diesel cargo. The incident was especially dangerous because the attack occurred in a residential area.
The General Director reported that the driver of the tanker told police that he was driving with a companion when the tanker was attacked by thugs with Molotov cocktails. Both the driver and passenger fled the scene to avoid injury. The General Director said an investigation into the incident was opened to identify and locate the suspects.
