The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and F1’s Commercial Rights Holder Bernie Ecclestone have affirmed that Bahrain as a safe place for holding the Grand Prix race whose first test laps kick-started on Friday.
In a joint statement, published by the BNA, FIA and Formula One Management (FOM) confirmed “their belief that the Bahrain GP should go ahead this weekend” as planned.
The President of FIA Jean Todt, and Bernie Ecclestone, F1’s Commercial Rights Holder requested “all concerned respect the desire of the teams, drivers and all those involved in the staging of the event to do the best job possible over the weekend.”
