In a major search operation security officials in Bahrain busted an ammunition den during a wee hour raid in Bilad Al Qadeem area on Friday.
Authorities have seized a number of detonators, steel rods, electric wires and other material allegedly being used by terrorists for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Over the years IEDs had been used by thugs against security officials and expatriate communities causing many deaths and disabilities to the victims.
The General Director of Capital Governorate Police in a statement confirmed on Friday that a warehouse containing ammunition and other materials used in terror attacks was discovered in Bilad Al Qadeem.
The General Director said that the confiscated items included two homemade bombs, ready-to-use Molotov cocktails, empty containers used for bomb-making, homemade fire extinguisher guns and iron rods. Tyres, petrol tanks, homemade protective body armor and wires were also seized.
The public prosecution was notified and an investigation was launched to identify and locate the suspects. Anyone with any information is asked to call the police hotline at 80008008.
