The head of Bahrain’s side in the Bahraini-Thai Business Council, Jawad Al-Hawaj, confirmed that 14 Bahraini investors in the Bahraini-Thai Foodstuff Distribution Company (under formation) have begun the process of incorporating the company’s regional HQs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Jawad Al-Hawaj, who during his visit to Thailand signed the agreement, in a press statement said that the distribution company’s official incorporation in Bahrain is now well underway, pointing out that the company expects to avail from bilateral trade between the two friendly countries. The company is the fruition of a number of business agreements signed between the two countries. A similar company is expected to be incorporated in Thailand to begin cooperation soon and to play a significant role in catering to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s needs through foodstuffs’ projects. The company initially includes 14 Bahraini investors and a consortium of Thai investors.
Al-Hawaj said that the volume of non-oil trade exchange reached USD 435 million in 2011 with an increase of 87% compared with that of the year 2009 and is likely to increase in the foreseeable future thanks to the recent visit of HM the King to Thailand which has paved grounds for more cooperation and commercial and investment partnerships.
