As part of Bapco’s ongoing efforts aimed to promote sports initiatives and encourage employees to lead a health life, the Bapco Running Club organized a 3 kilometers running race and fun walk event with participation of a number of Bapco employees. The initiative is also part of the activities carried out by the company on regular basis throughout the year with the aim of raising health awareness among employees, their families and the community in general. The event was held under the umbrella of Bapco’s sport Committee and in collaboration with Bapco’s Public Relations Department.
The event took place in the area outside the northern gate of HRH Princess Sabeeka Park with participation of over 60 contestants from different age groups. A number of children also participated in some parts of the race.
Present at the event were Ebrahim Talib Deputy Chief Executive Refining and Marketing, Chairman Environment, Health and Safety Committee and a number of Bapco’s management members.
At the conclusion of the race, Talib presented the trophies to winners of the Running Race and Fun Walk, hailing their active performance and participation. He also commended their remarkable efforts during the race, wishing them all success. He urged the participants to engage in sports regularly in order to enjoy a happy healthy life.
