Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed his keenness to overcome the difficulties that young people face before entering the labor market.
This came during a seminar marking the opening of the Second Gulf University Forum, organized by the University of Bahrain.
In his speech titled “The difficulties for the youth after graduation”, Shaikh Nasser spoke about the challenges facing younger generation in search of job opportunities following their graduation.
Shaikh Nasser also highlighted certain skills that the graduate must obtain in order to be qualified to enter labor life, besides the necessary steps that would help the youth in taking the right direction to their future career.
Shaikh Nasser noted that the Arab world is suffering from the highest rate of youth unemployment in the world, estimated by more than 25 per cent of the total people of this young generation. He said this problem is costing Arab countries more than $ 40 billion annually, according to the report “Education for Employment”.
Other points raised on this occasion included the training stages the graduate must pass prior to their next challenges at work as well as human development projects.
Shaikh Nasser and several ministers attending the seminar then answered the questions and queries of the participants in the forum, which represents a golden opportunity to identify the ideas of the younger generation in regards to the main issue of this regional gathering.
Shaikh Nasser conveyed the greetings of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to all universities’ students attending the forum.
The seminar was also attended by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first vice-chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, UoB President Dr Ebrahim Janahi, ministers and other high-ranking officials.
