His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa paid a visit to the Thai Monarch King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Upon arrival, HM the King was welcomed by the Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra who hailed his visit.
HM King Hamad held a meeting with King Bhumibol Adulyadej, in the presence of the Thai Premier.
HM the King expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to King Bhumibol Adulyadej for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation.
HM King Hamad discussed with the Thai Monarch ways of bolstering the outstanding Bahraini-Thai relations of friendship and cooperation in the economic, investment and trade fields, lauding the steady growth of bilateral ties in all fields.
HM the King affirmed Bahrain’s keen desire to consolidate the cordial relations between the ruling families in both countries.
He added that Bahraini-Thai relations are based on mutual respect and joint coordination in all development fields, expressing thanks and appreciation to the members of Thai community in Bahrain for their contributions to the kingdom’s development march.
HM the King asserted that the Thai community is respected and appreciated by the tolerant Bahraini people.
At the end of the meeting, HM the King wished the Thai Monarch continuous good health and happiness and the friendly Thai people further progress and prosperity.
The convoy of HM King Hamad headed to the Thai government’s headquarters where he welcomed by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
An official protocol reception was held for HM King Hamad, during which the national anthems of the both Kingdoms were played and HM the king and the Thai Premier greeted members of the delegations.
HM King Hamad recorded a statement in the VIP Register in which he expressed pleasure at visiting the friendly Kingdom of Thailand to hold meetings with King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Thai senior officials.
He also expressed heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Thailand for the warm welcome and hospitality according to him and his accompanying delegation, praising the positive atmosphere prevailing during the visit, which, he said, reflects the solid bilateral relations and joint desire to continue developing them.

The two leaders reviewed the steps taken by the two countries to consolidate their relations through opening new horizons of bilateral cooperation.
HM the King affirmed that Bahrain is especially interested in enhancing its relations with Thailand in order to avail of its distinguished expertise in the fields of trade, economy, trade and food security.
He also hailed the contributions of the Thai community to the Bahrain’s economy, praising Thai companies’ decisions to operate in the kingdom.
HM the King underlined that his current visit to Thailand will have a positive impact on increasing the volume of bilateral trade exchange and paves the way for the private sector in both countries to start joint projects, given the investment facilities and incentives provided by the kingdom of Bahrain for investors and foreign capitals.
HM the King lauded the major role played by the Joint Bahraini-Thai Committee in consolidating bilateral cooperation in all fields.
HM the King also lauded the positive results of the Thai Premier’s recent visit to Bahrain.
HM King Hamad valued highly friendly Thailand’s honourable stances towards Arab causes at regional and global gatherings.
On her part, the Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra welcomed HM the King’s visit to her country, asserting that it will strengthen bilateral relations and open up new horizons of joint collaboration in various fields.
She also extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his constant interest to bolster ties with her country.
