As part of official visit to Thailand, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Minister of the Royal Court, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, paid a visit to the command of the 1st infantry regiment of the Thai Royal Guard.
Upon the arrival, His Majesty the King was received by the General Commander of the Royal Thai Army Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, the Commander of the First Infantry Regiment of the Thai Royal Guard, and senior officers of the Royal Thai Army.
Then HM the King placed a wreath on the memorial of the fifth king of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Meanwhile, HM the King met with senior officers, where he discussed with them the deep rooted relations between the two countries which are based on mutual respect and coordination in many areas.
HM the King was briefed on the tasks and responsibilities assigned to the First Infantry Regiment of the Thai Royal Guard. Then, His Majesty the King viewed military and training shows for the affiliates of the Thai Royal Guard, where they showed their efficiency and readiness.
HM the King expressed admiration for the progress, efficiency and capacity of the affiliates of the Thai Royal Guard, and thanked them for their efforts wishing them all progress and development.
Then, His Majesty the King signed in the VIP record a word in which he expressed pleasure for visiting the Kingdom of Thailand and meeting with Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thai prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and other senior officials in the Thai government and in the first infantry unit of the personal guards of His Majesty the King.
HM also expressed thanks and appreciation for the great welcome accorded to him, underlining the friendly and constructive atmosphere during the meetings which reflected the depth of the close relations between Bahrain and Thailand, saying Bahrain is looking forward to continue developing these relations.
Then, one of the officers delivered a speech, welcoming His Majesty the King and expressed on behalf of the leadership of the regiment their thanks and appreciation for this visit.
His Majesty the King exchanged souvenirs on this occasion, and HM the King took some photos with senior officers.
