His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called for the need to step up efforts to remove conflicts and promote security and stability in the region through dialogue, mutual understanding and regional and global coordination in order to avoid war and prevent destruction and killing of innocent people.
“If peace and security prevail in the region, they will do so in the rest of the world because global security is integral,” he said.
The Prime Minister also affirmed that Bahrain boasts a rich record of development, human rights and democratic achievements, which has reflected positively on the daily life of Bahraini citizens whose government’s political, economic and social strides exceed those attained in the most developed countries.
This came as HRH Premier received at the Gudaibiya Palace, in the presence of the Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, a delegation from the European Parliament (EP), led by Angelika Niebler.
HRH Premier reviewed with the delegation the cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union (EU) and the Bahrain-EU friendship relations based on mutual respect.
HRH Premier affirmed that doors are wide open for bolstering cooperation between Bahrain and the EU member states.
The meeting also touched upon the parliamentary relations between the two sides, and highlighted what has been achieved in Bahrain as a result of its parliamentary experience regarding the consolidation of democracy and popular participation.
On their part, members of the European Parliament praised the kingdom’s development and reform strides, which, they said, reflected the government’s resolve to enhance the development and modernization process, lauding HRH Premier’s keen interest in consolidating Bahrain-EU cooperation.
