Pakistan Embassy in Bahrain has initiated an investigation into a kidnap and torture case following the matter brought into the knowledge of the embassy staff by a worker who was tortured and allegedly kidnapped by two unidentified people.
According to details, Javed Massey was kidnapped in Hoora area by two assailants on 15th of April when the complainant at 22.10pm after his shift was over at Zahid Sultan Restaurant in central Manama area.
Javed, 42, who has been living in Bahrain for the past nine years in a statement said the moment he left the restaurant he was stopped by one plain clothed man and started beating him while the scuffle was on going the other person from the driving seat of the car got down and punched him in the face knocking him down to the ground before taking him in the same vehicle to an unknown place.
“I have been taken into a house where I could see and hear other family members as well. They confined into a one living room and left me alone while an injury on my scull start bleeding near the left eye,” Javed. “I was given ice by an elderly man to put on the wound and also offered food which I refused due to panic. The kidnappers never questioned me later till another man came next morning at 11am and asked me to go,” he added.
“Once I was freed I discovered that the house where I was kept for one night was in Sitra area and I immediately lodged a complaint at police station. I also came to embassy to seek help in my travel documents which are being processed and will be ready by Thursday,” he added.
He confirmed that he had no enmity with any one and the reason of torture and kidnapped were yet unknown to him.
Charge de’ Affaires at Pakistan embassy Mr Aurangzeb said embassy was investigating the event at its level. “We do advise Pakistan Diaspora to take all possible precautions especially in areas known for such events and in case of any untoward incident people can contact at embassy hotline 17-224-113,” he said.
