Ahmed Mohamed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Cairo based Arab Parliament visited the UN House in Manama on the sidelines of his visit to Bahrain to participate in the opening ceremony of the 21st Heritage Festival Traditional Cafes at the invitation of the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Al Jarwan met with Nejib Friji, Director of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) for the Gulf Countries and discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the UN in support of common objectives and goals in serving humanity, peace and human development in particular.
Friji said that he looked forward to the promotion of cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the different UN bodies to the level of partnership to better serve the issues of peace and sustainable human development in the Arab region.
