Two people suspected of involvement in the murder of Ahmed Al-Dhufairi have been remanded in custody for 60 days pending investigation.
The suspects are also accused of attempting to murder another person, arson, masterminding terror blasts and blocking the traffic in Hamad Town on the avenue leading to Sadad.
A Juvenile court judge referred an underage accomplice to the Juvenile Care Centre, Northern Governorate Prosecutor Mohammed Al-Malki announced. The case dates back to April17, 2012, when a group of terrorists blocked the avenue and planted a bomb before setting a fire pile of tires.
The 18-year-old Bahraini National Ahmed Salim Al-Dhufairi has died as a result of injuries sustained in an explosion in Hamad Town. He suffered second-degree burns while attempting to remove a road blockade of burning tires with a wooden stick in efforts to clear the road and make way for him and oncoming traffic.
After suffering injuries to the face, hands and back due to the explosion he was first treated at the BDF hospital and later transferred to Jordan for further treatment. Al- Dhufairi succumbed from his injuries at King Hussein Medical Center in Jordan on the 8th of June 2012. The Public Prosecution had then commissioner a medical examiner to conduct a post mortem autopsy on the deceased’s body which was repatriated to Bahrain.
